It’s the 10th anniversary of DWTS 20 and “Maks Is Back!” for one night only on April 28th in week 7. Also, it will be the last time that he and Val will be dancing together on the show, so this is a ‘very special video of the two hottest ballroom brothers” the show has ever had! The cast from the past 20 seasons will be returning for this special anniversary to be a part of this ‘special night‘. In the audience are many past celebrities who were on the show that are too numerous to mention but I‘m sure you‘ll recognize many while watching.
The show starts off with Val & all the Pros (past to present) perform in all-star dancing opening. In this star-studded dance, guess who’s in the audience and dancing? Maks with his DWTS 18 trophy winning partner, Meryl Davis!
Backstage are Val‘s present & past partners, Rumer Willis & Danica McKellar (DWTS 18), along with fellow competitors Chris & Riker in the Skybox. They are with Erin Andrews, Patti Labelle, L’il Kim and Corbin Bleu (DWTS 17) .
After seeing a brief clip of Kelly Monaco with partner Alec Mazo (winners of DWTS 1), she returns to dance with Val (DWTS 15 AllStars partner). They re-create their "Surfer Flamenco" dance, and ‘half dressed‘!
Then comes memories of the past decade with:
1st are the mishaps:
Kelly Monaco (DWTS 1 - wk 4: has a wardrobe malfunction on the dance floor)
Kirstie Alley (DWTS 12 - wk 4: “shoe-gate” on the dance floor during the Waltz / wk 3: injury of Maks in during their Rumba & they both take a tumble).
2nd comes the drama:
Misty May-Treanor (DWTS 7 - wk 3: in rehearals with Maks, Misty suffers an injury during rehearsals & ends up having a tear in her Achilles tendon).
3rd and last, the tantrums:
DWTS 18: Maks having to wear those body microphones ‘below the belt’ will do it every time, which kinda scared Meryl Davis!
DWTS 10 - Wk 6: With Erin Andrews after their Samba. Grumpy ol’ Len is tired of Maks taking off his shirt in all his performances, so Maks throws it at him - LOL!
DWTS 13 - wk 6: With Hope Solo after their Rumba. Len says “I’ve been in this business 50 years” and Maks interrupts with “maybe it’s time to get out!”
After everything that happened between them in the past, Maks & Len are riding a bike built for two. (Looks like they kissed and made/biked up! - LOL!)
Now we’re ready for Maks & Meryl Davis to do a Paso Doble/Tango fusion and what a wonderful dance. Tom brings up the topic of Maks‘ audiition for the show, and guess what? We're treated to Maks' audition tape (Oct. 2005), and he is PERFECT.
Val then talks about Team Dances the one he did with Maks in during the DWTS 15 Alllstars (wk 5): Team Gangnam Style. Footage of their dance is shown.
To end the night, Bruno Tonioli talks about his all-time favorite “dance pick”: Mel B. & Maks’ Paso Doble from DWTS 5 (wk 7). It’s our favorite, too! To this day, we all feel that the DWTS 5 trophy belongs to them! …...more
