Maid Sailors Cleaning Service

I recently booked a cleaning session with Maid Sailors and was assigned a cleaner named Alketa. From start to finish, my experience was nothing short of excellent. Alketa arrived punctually, fully equipped with cleaning supplies, and immediately set to work.

Her professionalism was evident in her methodical approach to cleaning my apartment. She paid remarkable attention to detail, tackling hard-to-reach areas that I had overlooked for months. The kitchen and bathroom were her masterpieces, left gleaming and sanitized. What impressed me most was her efficiency; she managed to deep clean the entire space without it feeling intrusive or prolonged.

Alketa also displayed a high degree of professionalism and courtesy. She asked for my preferences at the start and walked me through what she had done at the end, ensuring I was satisfied with her work.

Overall, Maid Sailors, through Alketa's diligent work, provided top-notch service that surpassed my expectations. The convenience, thoroughness, and quality of their cleaning have made me a satisfied and returning customer. I highly recommend them!

You never get the same person very unreliable
Honestly, the last person who came and spoke to me at the majority of the time and didn't do anything. I asked they have a "list" of things that they will clean even if it just takes them 30 minutes to do it and I'll charge the same price.

Wow was this a stressful experience. We hired Maid Sailors to do a post renovation cleaning. Booking them was super easy. We even had to change our scheduled cleaning and they were great to deal with prior to arriving. The minute they arrived things went south.

We wish we had more time but we had to schedule them to come the day before our move in date. Our move in kept getting pushed back because construction was delayed. So the two cleaners arrived as our contractor was doing some last minute finishing touches and cleaning his stuff up. We told the cleaners to start on the 2nd floor as the contractor had prepped that for them. First thing the cleaners said to us was oh we aren't trained in post construction cleaning. Well they walked in and saw the 1st floor still had tools. They started complaining. When they went upstairs there was 1 painter finishing a door. One of the cleaners took a photo and called his boss. This painter was in no one's way and was almost done. The boss Ray called my wife and was overly aggressive towards her. He was insisting there were people working and his cleaners couldn't do their job. My wife kept explaining that there was no issue and his cleaners were ok to keep working. Unfortunately the crew that was sent spent more time complaining and sending photos of things they didn't like than they did cleaning for the first 45 min. I called Ray and told him that I deal with post reno cleaning crews all the time. The idea that his cleaners couldn't work around someone who wasn't making a mess was insane to me. Ray was combative and I was equally upset towards him. His cleaners were making a stressful situation (moving) unnecessarily more stressful. I told him I would leave a yelp review.

The icing on the cake was as the guys were sweeping one of the contractors realized he left a tool upstairs. He went back up to look and you would have thought he stepped in mud, rolled around in it and walked through a silk carpet. These cleaners called their boss again and said they refused to clean after someone walked through their space. Remember they didn't mop anything yet, just swept. I flat out told them if they didn't want to do the job to leave but they said they can handle it.

The worst part of this experience was the constant bullying of Ray calling each time his guys complained about something. I told Maid Sailors to come see the situation themselves or send a manager. Things were quickly getting out of hand.

The cleaners packed up to leave and the place was still a mess. We got them to come back in after we said one of the bathrooms wasn't cleaned that they were supposed to do but guess what they blamed it on the guy walking through a bedroom earlier. According to them yhe bathroom was dirty because someone walked into a different room.

They packed up to leave again but this time they left without telling us. We called the office to complain. Some manager called us back and she was even more combative than Ray. She wouldn't listen to anything we had to say. We sent photos to show how they didn't do a good job and how they didn't finish the job. She even gave an odd reason why the job wasn't done. She said it was because we signed up for a post renovation cleaning and this should have been a post construction cleaning. Not sure what that means.


I don't leave many negative reviews. I like to use Yelp to encourage people to use businesses that I like to enjoy but when something this unnecessary occurs I always feel I owe it to others to let them know.

Although the cleaner who I had was very pleasant and the corporate communication was 5-star (they were able to help me get a COI for my building fast and they were quick to respond to my negative feedback refunding my $50 immediately), I would not recommend this service. I thoroughly researched cleaning services for a recent move and Maid Sailors had glowing reviews across the board. I was shocked when they did not deliver what they sold. The cleaner who came had no vacuum or mop for this "deep clean move-in" service only limited cleaning supplies. I envisioned there would be more than one person for this service as well. I paid $325 for my one bedroom apartment plus tip and I ended up having to clean the apartment entirely myself.

I spent a lot of time researching cleaning services and this was an excellent value. Nastassia Campbell cleaned our one bedroom apartment and did a wonderful job. She was quick, quiet, and thorough. We will definitely be using this service again, and we'll request Nastassia!

I've had my apartment cleaned three times via maid sailors already. Each time the cleaning people have been super friendly and thorough. I love coming back to a clean apartment after work (i let them in in the morning).

Scheduling is really easy - you can choose time of week and time of day. You can get get maintenance cleaning or add some add ons (like inside fridge or oven) all online through a form, and edit until before your cleaning.

I have been using this cleaning service for years and I must say they are hands down the best in New York! Every time they come to my home, they do a pristine job.
