The Mego Museum Galleries Are Being Renovated! The Marble Busts are BACK!

We have moved the Mego Museum Galleries to a new web platform to improve user experience on mobile devices. The content has not changed, but the navigation and responsiveness have been overhauled. It's a massive undertaking and a continual work in progress, be gentle with us, there are no doubt many imperfections. The galleries are at a new URL, but the old gallery are still at their old location for the foreseeable future.

We are beginning to upgrade our photos and information and anticipate an avalanche of regular updates to the Mego Museum in the future. Follow our progress at the Mego Museum homepage and Forums, plus Facebook and Twitter.

Here's what we've done this week:

Custom of the Week - 7/20/15 - Big Jim's P.A.C.K.

By popular demand, this week the spotlight falls on Boywonder0's set of Big Jim's P.A.C.K. done in 8" scale. These look so factory, only better. It's too bad these aren't a reality because they'd probably fly off the shelves.  Bake your won using the following recipe:

Heads - Mattel Real Men Finger Puppets
Bodies - Mattel Retro Action DC Heroes (Yes, Mattel own both head and body molds so they can make them if they want to)
Clothing - Multiple! Here are some of the obvious: Mego Starsky blue shirt and CTVT Space 1999 white pants for Commander,
Mego Action Jackson Spy outfit for The Whip (Beanie hat, shirt and pants)
Dr. Mego Trek pants for Dr. Steel.
CTVT Vest and pants for Warpath
Clothing for Torpedo Fist made by me. Also must tailor a bit all the above to better fit into retro bodies.
Accessories - Commander's Holster, Torpedo Fist's Striking Fist and The Whip's Bandana made by me using leather and painted with SEM Vinyl & Fabric spray paint.
Boots & Belts - Cast-A-Way Toys
Decals - PACK logos & Dr. Steel chest tattoo made by ThatBatmanGuy and the awesome paws print on boots sole by PMWasson
Cards - Designed and made by The Toyroom
Clamshells - Dr. Mego

This Week in Customs

Another big week for customs on the forums has come and gone, with great figures appearing from a variety of genres.

A special treat was newcomer harvestcrusader's posting of a large chunk of his work, seen in the second row.

Also noteworthy were two new offerings from Paul Wasson at lasermego.com sure to make life easier.  Paul has fabricated neck plug adapters for both Famous Covers and Pez heads that make mounting them to 8" Mego and Megolike bodies a snap.  No more dowel rods and black tape!  Look for an article on utilizing both soon.
