Summer Is Coming, So Think French!

The summer season is for all the right things of a great holiday. You can finally get the time to visit any of your dream countries, engage yourself in awesome activities, meet new people, bond with family, go on a shopping spree and the list goes on and on. Wow, I am excited for summer 2017 already! And I know it is going to be so much fun as I plan to make every day a memorable one with friends and family. But, it can sometimes be a lot of work to plan a great summer holiday, especially for people who work almost 24 hours every day but can still afford to go anywhere in the world. Summer time might be the only holiday some of us get some time off work and all the busy schedules that never end. So, let me help you to some tips of on how you can enjoy a French kind of summer in France.

There are so many things that put France on the top of the list for the best places to be in summer. From cruising along the coastal highway of the French Rivera, enjoying a great time with awesome people while sipping rose, and having picnics with friends and family in Parisian parks. Well, that’s not all France has to offer, and in its most populous city and capital Paris, there is a lot to feed the eyes with, and so many beautiful places to visit. The language too is a thing of beauty, and I sure would love to strengthen my French this summer.

A lot of activities take place in France every year, and they all attract people from all over the world. One event that has got my attention is the French summer sales also known as, ‘Soldes d’ete.' In France, the summer sales dates or ‘dates des soldes’ in French, is regulated by law. And not just for the summer sales but also for the winter sales. These two sale periods are the only times in France to which it is legal for shops to sell their items for less than the original costs and make use of the word ‘Soldes’ in advertising to the public.

The French have made it a tradition, which is something similar to the ‘Black Friday’ fever in the US. So, for my fellow shoppers, prepare to take advantage of the huge markdowns from elegant stores looking to clear their stock in the season. I have heard the first few days can be packed, and people will always rush to get the best items available. But from my findings, I believe the markdowns get deeper as the week goes on and waiting till the event gets to mid-level or almost to the end, one can get anything they desire for a cost as little as possible.

The beautiful thing about the French summer sale is that the big names in the Fashion industry are involved. So, those designer clothing I could not afford earlier this year, am coming to take you home this summer.
