Bored With Politics

For a while there, it seemed like I was obsessed. I watched the news incessantly, even while working out. Everyday brought more and more bombshell stories about the POTUS. There was Russian Intervention which turned out to be a dud. There was the Russian dossier paid for by the Clinton campaign, which turned out to be false. There was Trump’s tax returns and his affair with Stormy Daniels (which was very real). Remember that guy Michael Avenatti who was the darling of the mainstream media and who was going to win the Democratic nomination? He’s going to jail for extortion. He’s also bankrupt. But then Michael Cohen is in jail too and he was one of Trump’s buddies, until he wasn’t.
In any case, it all made for some interesting TV. Until the Impeachment proceedings began, and all those speeches and legal posturing by the likes of Gerry Nadler and Adam Schiff. It was the same thing over and over and over again. Trump held up military assistance to the Ukraine in exchange for a quid pro quo-style, You investigate the Bidens and their involvement in some sleazy gas company kickbacks for he and his son or no aid.
Turns out the lethal aid was delivered before the September deadline and the new President of Ukraine swears up and down he felt no pressure to do anything unsavory. Still, Schiff and Nadler kept up the rhetoric. Impeach 45 over bribery, quid pro quo, extortion and obstruction of…
