Muslim Bride and Groom

India is home to a large population of Muslims, making it one of the most widely-recognized and popular religions in the world. The Indian Muslim weddings are extremely elegant and decorated with fine rituals. Their marriages are unique because each ritual is special. The bride and groom's relatives should enjoy their wedding traditions and shower blessings upon the future married couple.

Muslim weddings are also called 'Nikah' and are usually arranged marriages between the parents of the bride or groom. Before 2 witnesses and a Muslim priest, a marriage contract is signed between the bride-groom. Each person attending the wedding must dress up in their finest to commemorate the special occasion Matrimony.

Bride and groom need to look their best on their day of matrimony. It is a crucial stage in their lives when two hearts become one. A sharara is a traditional muslim bridal dress that the bride wears on her D-day. Many prefer the hijab or lehnga, which is a three-piece garment that includes a blouse, a long skirt, and a dupatta. You should choose carefully the color of your wedding, as colors such black and white are inauspicious. Most brides prefer green, peach, blue, or red for their wedding dresses. The dress is often bright and shiny with heavy embroidery using zari with dauka work (golden thread). The blouse sleeves cover the head with a long, revealing minimal skin. Today, many brides opt for shorter sleeves and blouses to modernize their dresses.

Because she is filled with pearl, kundan and heavy gold jewelry, the bride looks princess-like. The hair is parted from the forehead by a tikka. An ornament called jhoomar that only Muslim women can wear is attached on one side. A lot of matching bangles are worn by her, and an anklet known as paayal is placed around her ankles. The bride wears the wedding gown and jewelry. A bunch of jasmine blooms are added to her hairstyle, and a dupatta is added to cover her head. The bride looks elegant and traditional in her bridal gown. Henna on the palms completes the look.

A Muslim groom looks tougher than his female counterpart and is handsome too. The sherwani is a long, high-collared coat featuring traditional Indian golden threads. The groom also adds henna to the palms to give it a full sherwani style. The groom is dressed in a khada pajama, or churidaar, below his sherwani. Groom's face is covered by a sehra, which prevents others from seeing his face on the big day. The groom is adorned with rings and a chain made from pearls or precious stones around his neck.
