Big news for the DC films, after weeks of teasing Dwayne Johnson tweeted he will play Black Adam in the upcoming New Line’s Shazam movie. I suppose the announcement was meant to be dropped back in San Diego Comic Con, some sources says his decision wasn’t clear, but its nice to have the news right now.

Something I find curious is he pointed out Black Adam will be an antihero, so I doubt this is going to be the genocidal version of the character.
It is also reported by Justin Kroll of Variety that Darren Lemke is attached to write the screenplay, his name may sound familiar because he wrote Brian Singer’s Jack the Giant Slayer, Turbo, and Shrek Forever After.
I’m excited about the Shazam movie now that we have Black Adam, but I’m quite nervous about the script, I didn’t like any of the movies I listed above.
