Reaching #5 in the UK album chart, Alison Moyet’s recent longplayer ‘the minutes’ was hugely well received, being called “her best in decades” by Q, “amazing” by The Quietus and “a musical resurrection” by The Huffington Post.

The accompanying tour was equally lauded, with The Times dubbing it “triumphant” and the Evening Standard stating “she’s never been better”.

The exuberant recordings contain a selection of material from ‘the minutes’, plus highlights from Alison’s earlier solo and Yazoo repertoires.

Alison took ‘the minutes’ tour through Europe, the USA and South Africa, selling over 55,000 tickets and it culminated with a rapturous show at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Alison was joined on stage by MD John Garden (keys, guitars and programming) and Sean McGhee (backing vocals, synthesiser, guitar and programming).

Alison Moyet is touring solo through Europe in November and then as Very Special Guest with Culture Club on their arena tour in the UK in December.

    Having seen Alison Moyet live on this tour, my remarks on leaving the concert were, ' really hope she releases a live album of this concert', so I was ecstatic when she did. The main reason being, Alison has changed the arrangements, style, tempo to some of her well known songs and given them a new life. Coupled with an a superb voice that doesn't fail to deliver in live performance this is definitely a worthwhile purchase.

    Fantastic album. Have always liked Alison Moyer since the 80's. She's still got it, what a great voice. Great songs on here, old & new, including some fantastic different versions of some of her older songs.

    An amazing live album. No autotune, just classic Alison vocals. One of my fav tracks has got to be Ordinary Girl. On Raindancing a pop number, on this album, how it was meant to be heard. Alison is now her own boss, and it shows. Highly recommended :)

    I completely agree with Paul's review. I did see Alison in New York on this tour and it was an amazing show (sorry Paul but it's true), probably the best I have seen her live. This cd does capture the sound and atmosphere of the live show nicely. The tracks from The Minutes are great live and great here.
    I am sure there are many who don't like when an artists plays around with the arrangements of their older material but I love it when Alison and company rework her songs. Is This Love and Ordinary Girl are prime examples of that. I never liked Ordinary Girl when it was released but I enjoy it a lot since hearing her retweaked, more sentimental versions live.
    I totally feel the same as Paul when he says that there were a lot of songs that could have been added to maximize the cd and to more fully represent the live shows but that does not take away from the actual performances on the cd.
    I have seen and heard Alison perform Situation solo and with Yazoo on their reconnected tour and the version on this cd is even better (sorry Vince), very energetic and pulsing. Actually got goosebumps when it played in my car.
