Help us pay Ian's final expenses.

Donation protected
Updated 1/20/15.... unfortunately, after 13 days of treatment, our brother Ian succumbed to complications from his chemotherapy treatment. His heart couldn't handle it, and he left us at around 6:45am with my sister, nephew and I at his side.

We were sure he was going to beat this, but his last 48 hours, things started going wrong, and his heart gave out.

We are now stuck with the unexpected task of his final expenses, and some bills associated with his final weeks, and probate/attorney fees.

His pension and disability payments were not expected to kick in for another 4-6 weeks, but we won't be able to count on that now.

Any help would be appreciated during this unexpectedy tragic time for our family.

We thank you all for the love & support you,ve shown us these past few weeks.

Here is some information on our brother....

Ian (aka John) had been a musician/sound tech/guitar teacher in the Seattle area for about 45 years, and a union pipefitter/steamfitter for over 30 years with UA Local 32 in Renton (he's on the left in the picture).

He was diagnosed in late October with leukemia, and during his November check-up his doctors started talking about treatment, since it was considered a slow progressing form. Christmas eve, during a check-up, they were alarmed to find that it was getting progressively worse, and spreading much faster than expected. His doctors required him to quit/retire from his job immediately, and scheduled treatment to start the first Monday in January, going straight to chemo first (they originally were going to try to beat it with a blood transfusion).

His treatment was to include 3 months in hospital chemotherapy (30 days in, 3 days out, and repeat twice), then a short break before going through a full blood transfusion, then another break before either a marrow and/or stem cell transplant(s).

Hewas holding up really well after his first week of chemo, had a great attitude, and we were sure he could beat it, but didn't want him to end up destitute over the treatment.

Any amount will help off set his expense.

Thank you so much for reading and/or donating!
