I’ve had a fear of failure, and (simultaneously) the fear of being too much at the forefront (of conversation, attention, praise…), damn near my whole life. I’ve seen rebellious glimpses of a man who was able to combat those fears, but that man comes around less than my father did. I always thought that if I worked, practiced, and read a bit…more, I would grow more comfortable moving forward, but it’s still an uphill battle. The truth is, success lives JUST outside our reach, until we leap and take hold of it.
