Hey everyone,
Blake here and I'm super excited to share my new music with you!!! It's been a long time coming, My 4th full length album is set to be released on May 10th. WANDERLUST UNKNOWN is mixture of Classic Jazz, Hiphop & with a little bit of Soul. I went back to what I love, what I grew up listening to and what inspired me to become the vocalist and beatboxer I am today.
From Hiphop like The Roots, A Tribe Called Quest & J Dilla, I explore those nostalgic 90's era grooves with beatbox as a foundation. This is my first time producing my entire album and I am super proud at the way it's sounding. To get that Classic Jazz feel I started creating with my dear friend Luca Pino who is an amazing Gypsy Jazz guitarist and has come up with so many amazing parts for me to sing over. We would jam, just beatbox, guitar and vocals, coming up with some beautiful melodies and laying them down in my studio to start each song. Very raw and organic! You can here a bit of that in the Pre-Order video.
The artwork was created by Seattle artist Ten Hundred, who I've been following for years and he took my vision to the next level. I want the listener to be transported somewhere they have never been. To imagine they are some place foreign or tropical when listening and Ten Hun did just that with the design. My skills only go so far and with your help, you are making this album sound the best it can be! WAHOOO!!! I really feel this album sounds like the most "me" it ever has.
