Liverpool owner John W. Henry confirms Liverpool not for sale

In November last year, the football world was rocked by the news that FSG, the owner of Liverpool, was putting the Merseyside club up for sale. This was evidenced by FSG appointing Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley to find a buyer for Liverpool.

However, recently the club owner John W Henry clarified the situation, stating that FSG has no intention of selling the club at this time and that he will continue to control Liverpool in the near future.

"I know there has been a lot of conversation and quotes about LFC, but I keep to the facts: we merely formalized an ongoing process," he said. "Will we be in England forever? No. Are we selling LFC? No. Are talking with investors about LFC? Yes. Will something happen there? I believe so, but it won't be a sale. Have we sold anything in the past 20+ years?"

Henry's statements indicate that FSG is indeed seeking a partner to sell some of its shares in Liverpool. However, there is no deadline for this process, and it may take several years for FSG to sell all of its shares in Liverpool.

Unlike Chelsea and Man Utd, Liverpool's owners have never set a deadline for potential bidders. In fact, their current search for investors is an extension of the process that has been underway for several years, with Henry openly selling shares in Liverpool. Earlier this season, Liverpool chairman Tom Werner said that FSG is expected to continue holding control of Anfield "for a long time."

The appointment of investment banks Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley was seen as a market valuation exercise for Liverpool and to evaluate whether selling part or all of the club is in the best interest of its top shareholders.

Henry has stated that Liverpool is still in the hands of FSG and manager Jurgen Klopp will continue with the team. The German strategist had previously been informed by the club's owner about the search for investment partners for the club, not an outright sale.

The majority of Liverpool supporters will now receive clear information about the future of the club, which has significant implications for future transfer plans.

The vast majority of fans acknowledge that FSG has done much for Liverpool, with the American owners restoring a modern structure, rebuilding the stadium, and most importantly, appointing Klopp and creating the conditions for a successful era.
