2025 Tesla Model Y Review: Specs, Price and Trims

Posted on

The 2025 Tesla Model Y is a sedan that has a comfortable driving experience due to its sleek design. Handling is less agile, resulting in a clunky feel in corners and making it less enjoyable to hustle. However, its cabin is larger and its cargo capacity is more accommodating, so if you frequently transport children or move large objects, the Model Y is the better option.

Compared to competitors like the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Volkswagen ID.7, this offers more. The Model Y dashboard features a huge touchscreen in the center. It houses both the infotainment system & a speed and navigation readout. The Tesla has below-average fit and finish, compared to Hyundai and Nissan.

The Tesla Model Y is one of the most popular electric vehicles on the market due to its spacious interior, high-tech features, and outstanding range; nevertheless, some critics have noted that the Model Y lacks the sporty handling and sleek styling of its sedan version. Some drawings also suggest that Tesla may remove the standard grill, making the car even more electric, and that the headlamps will be slimmer and more horizontal.

The Model 3 is working on a refresh for the Model Y, which may debut as early as 2025. So, how would the 2025 Tesla Model Y appear? We don’t have any official photographs from Tesla yet, but we spotted some renderings online that give us a preview of what the future Model Y could look like. Take a look at these images and tell us what you think in the comments section.

2025 Tesla Model Y Performance

The cost-leader Standard Range rear-wheel drive trim is no longer available in the Model Y series. It doesn’t hurt that the Model Y’s Long Range and Performance models provide better value than the Standard Range trim, and the next base model will have the same dual-motor all-wheel drive system as the other two. We were able to test an all-wheel-drive Long Range thanks to a kind reader of Car and Driver. It reached 60 mph in under 4.4 seconds, barely 0.4 seconds slower than our long-term Model 3 sedan. In our tests, the Performance variant reached 60 mph in just 3.6 seconds. Despite its remarkable acceleration, the Model Y doesn’t provide the same amount of driving enjoyment as the Model 3. There are reports that Tesla may introduce a new battery pack with a range of more than 350 miles.
