Plamen Dereu is a Dutch singer-songwriter and music producer with Bulgarian roots. Music has always been at the heart of his journey, shaping his path from an early age. As a teenager, he explored his creative side through theater and dance, laying the foundation for his future in the arts. In 2007, a life-changing car accident became a turning point for Plamen. After recovering, he decided to fully embrace his passion for music and began taking vocal lessons. By 2009, he earned a spot as one of the 13 finalists on Music Idol in Bulgaria. But that was just the beginning. Following the show, he moved to the Netherlands, where he started writing and producing his first songs, taking his career to the next level. “As a kid, I dreamed of becoming a singer or a spaceman. I’ve always been curious about the forces that shape our world and how it all connects. Spoiler: it’s probably money (thanks, Cabaret). But for me, it’s music that makes it all go round.”
