ania rek Berlin Ania Rek is a Polish singer currently living in Berlin who graduated from the Academy of Music in Gdansk(Poland). Jazz, electronic music and self-composed songs are among her favourite styles. Improvisation is a very important part of her singing. Music was always an important part of her life. She started to play piano at the age of 8. Few years later her adventure with singing has begun through first classes of singing and competitions for vocalists. She was twice a laureate of festival Talenty Malopolski, and few other vocal contests. 2013 she was invited to take a part in an international festival FINSTERWALDE SAENGER in Germany, 2016 International Meetings of Jazz Vocalists in Zamosc(awarded). She strives to combine different styles singing in clubs with DJs or with a band. Her inspiration comes from Ella Fitzgerald, Anita O'Day, Billie Holiday and Kurt Elling. Few years ago she started to compose her own songs. Nowadays she is looking more into finding her own individual style discovering different colours in music. She speaks fluently english, german and polish.
