Being obese and out of shape is becoming a serious problem in the whole wide world. While some people try to combat with the unwanted fat with exercises, some prefer to go on dieting. However, there are some sorts of fat cells that turn out irresponsive to both of the efforts. In that case, we appreciate the advancement of technology which has introduced liposuction procedures to get rid of excess fat and weight.

Traditional liposuction for fat reduction

When it comes to the traditional liposuction approach, the fat reduction follows with some drawbacks. In the usual surgical liposuction, stomach fat removal is done with the use of general anesthesia which carries certain risks and side effects. On the other hand, the surgery itself is a risk and the recovery period after the surgery can involves several weeks of downtime.

A newer alternative to the traditional liposuction is the non invasive approach for stomach fat removal which is also known as laser liposuction. This procedure is considered much safer and hassle-free than the traditional one. In this non invasive laser liposuction, a smaller sized canula is used to remove excess fat beneath the skin. This procedure does not only offer good results, but also minimizes the risks bruising and swelling as associated with the surgical liposuction. The smaller incision also allows the body areas to heal and recover quickly after the liposuction procedure, which in turn reduces the risks of post-op complications and infections.

Advantages of Laser Liposuction

Some of the major advantages of the non surgical liposuction procedure are:

  • The procedure can be done without the use of general anesthesia which reduces the risks for the patients. The patients are allowed to be awake throughout the entire fat removal procedure.
  • Instead of anesthesia, patients are provided up with several medications prior to laser liposuction procedure to reduce pain and anxiety.
  • Before the procedure, a topic anesthetic agent or local anesthesia is applied to the body areas that are targeted with laser liposuction. Fat will be suctioned with several small incisions through the canula and the treated areas can then be bandaged after the procedure.
  • Very fewer risks are associated to laser liposuction as compared to the usual surgical liposuction. No serious complications like infection, bruising and burns are associated with it as those seen in the traditional ones.
  • Patients are allowed to resume their daily activities within a day to few days.
  • Besides the fat removal, laser liposuction also offer skin tightening, as during the procedure a new collagen is laid down in the dermal layers of the skin.

In short, laser liposuction is a safer and effective way to remove excess fat without the risks.
