I post allot of my artwork *mainly dolls and jewelry * and blog my views on life on here.I also post the occasional DIY art how to's and interesting things I find online. About my dolls and art:

For more info on my work visit http://www.uglyart.net All Ugly Art dolls are handmade from scratch molds of original sculptings by me Ugly Shyla. They are hand painted, hand fired, and all wigs, bodies, and costuming is handmade.

Ugly Art Dolls have been displayed in galleries, art shows and in the St. Elizabeth's Doll Museum; my dolls have also have been featured in print, in magazines such as Bizarre, Lollipop, SPIN, and Swag. My art dolls have also been photographed in John Santerineross' photography book, "Dream."

Ugly Art Dolls have also been used as photo props by Kattaryna Breaux, Caleb Storms, The Joker/Razorblade Grin, and Saryn Angel.

My main inspiration for my art dolls and other art is drawn from imagery captured within my dreams, and my artwork is also influenced by religious, spiritual and occult imagery.

These art dolls are known as fine art dolls; they are not children's toys. Some of the subject matter dealt with in my work is very serious, and the dolls are also too delicate to be handled by small children.

As well as a professional doll artist, I'm a established alternative model, modeling extensively for photographers such as Steve Diet Goedde, Lithium Picnic and John Santerineross.

I actually take my work very seriously,so comparing my work to toys,or dolls that are made to be pre-packaged non-conformity just annoys me.So does saying things like "if I buy one of your dolls will it kill me?,Again some of the subject matter I deal with in my work is very serious,so it's asinine to ask me stuff like that. If you want to know what kind of dolls I make check out the link to my site. My dolls range in price from 45.00 up to about 1000.00 or more.

Excuse any typos in this it’s hard to write.Today the 22 nd would have been my mother’s would been my mom’s 70 birthday today She didn’t even live to may it to 70’s.

Normally on these days I spent the night before wailing and mourning, but night before last she came to me in a dream looking lovely and her and I were back in Louisiana riding out a hurricane again.I guess it was her way of telling me I’ll never have to ride out any storms alone even though she’s not on this earth. Then at one point in the dream we are walking looks like walking near NOLA and there were a few cemeteries around ,and I see these absolutely beautiful what look like beaded spiderwebs and spiders all over everything.Shortly after that The Loa Baron the aspect that runs over Spiders steps out to meet up.He’s fun and kind and while as all barons are and I seem to remember he was dreaded in heavy purple velvet. The funny thing is this is my first dealing with that aspect of him, but I ADORE spiders I have them as tattoos as jewelry as decorations on my clothes and home ect.I have always wanted to meet the Baron who deals with spiders but was scared to approach him the wrong way.Which again is why I like a spirit approach me if they want to work with me.It was great getting to see my mom again and know she’s ok and have her let me know she’s ok.

Strange thing is when I got up that morning to say my good morning prayers at my altar my Santa Muerte has caught a fly in her water glass. So I went to pour the water out on a plant outside and the little fly was still alive and flew away.Which I took as a good sign.

Having that dream made me feel a LOT better having to go through her birthday without her here in body, since I KNOW she is here in Spirit!

I love you mom though the hurricane and back.

Love #UglyShyla #momless #mourningmymom #missyoumom

st expedite necklace I made.

SAINT EXPEDITE KEY NECKLACE TO OBTAIN BLESSINGS FROM PATRON SAINT OF URGENT CAUSES

Measurements:The chain is 13 inches and the key is 3 x 2 inches.

The Latin cognate is clear in the English word “to expedite” — thus St. Expeditus is the patron saint of those suffering from procrastination as well as those who find themselves fighting against the time and tide that wait for no man. He’s also the patron saint of emergency medical workers for obvious reasons. He also protects merchants, programmers, navigators, sailors, students and test-takers. It’s not uncommon for him to be petitioned by those who need an expeditious result as part of a lawsuit, or by those drowning as they navigate bureaucratic morasses.
