Travel Expenses to the hospital
Donation protected
At 16 weeks pregnant we were told our son has Hyoplastic left heart syndrome, which is were the left side of his heart does not work and that he would not make it past two days of birth. He was born on September 18, 2014 at 1:35 am; we named him Ayden Rae Riffel. He is now 7 days old and had his first heart surgery at 4 days old. He will have to have 2 following surgeries one at 4 months old and another between the ages of 2 and 4 years old. We have been in the hospital every day and night with him since birth and he has two older sisters that are staying with family, their names are Michaela (9) and Cloe (7) who love him very much. It is hard to be away from the girls while we are here at the hospital but they understand why we are here and they are with family. We are asking friends and family to help us with raising money for we will be able to have travel expenses to and from the hospital, that way we can be with his sisters at night and with him during the day. Also to help cover his medical bills that the insurance does not cover which is a substantial amount with having three open heart surgeries. Ayden will spend the first month of his life in the hospital could be longer depending on how well he does after this surgery. Also we would like to donate some of the proceeds to help the pcicu (Pediactric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit) at Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt to help with things that all these special surgery babies need. Any amount donated would be a great help to our family in this time of need and to this hospital which has taken great care of our son since the day he was born. Thank everyone for taking the time to read this and all of the donations.
