Senopia's music can best be described by the background of the band's personnel: sprawling. With members coming from England, Finland and Austria, Senopia's sounds span genres from alternative rock and electronica, to folk and jazz.

The band was formed in London in 2009 after bassist/programmer and synth player Andrew Brassleay recruited Swedish-speaking Finn Pia Berg as lead-vocalist and co-writer as well as English guitarist Rich Williams, various line-ups and experimentation followed before the band eventually met Austrian-based drummer David Hippel and settled as a four-piece.
